LAW FIRM BIOGRAPHY
The Figari Law Firm was established in September of 2008 by Barbara Figari. Barbara graduated in May of 2007 from the University of Minnesota Law School and received her Juris Doctor Degree cum laude with a concentration in labor employment law and was admitted to practice law in the State of California in December of 2007.
Along with many great accomplishments regarding cases that she has worked on, Barbara has been recognized as someone who stands out by prestigious organizations. Every year from 2011-2013 she was named by Northern California Super Lawyers magazine as a Rising Star attorney. Among that, she is the youngest member of the Executive Board of the California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA), an organization of over 1,200 attorneys who devote their practice to representing employees. She was appointed to this board in 2014 following a nomination and vetting process. She has also been nominated as one of the Top Women Attorneys in Northern California by the Super Lawyers organization for several years in a row.
Along with Barbara, The Figari Law Firm has team member Christine Cowan working to execute jobs to their utmost potential. Christine serves as lead paralegal on a number of litigation matters in which her responsibilities include: case management and file organization; maintaining and organizing produced documents; drafting discovery, correspondence and pleadings; assisting with filing and e-filing pleadings in Superior and District Cour; maintaining electronic databases containing deposition transcripts and documents; intial review of documents for production and privilege; preparing and maintaining privilege logs; assisting with deposition preparation; researching individuals as well as companies; locating expert witnesses; and proofing, cite checking and shepardizing pleadings.
The Figari Law Firm represents employees at all stages of litigation including the appellate level with an emphasis on trial work. A large part of the practice is an appellate practice, where clients of The Figari Law Firm have been represented in front of the First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth District Courts of Appeal, the California Supreme. Since September 2008, The Figari Law Firm has focused almost exclusively on the representation of employees in employment and civil rights actions.
